This weekend saw us travel up to Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the snow (yes on the M6 in all that weather!) for the UK Wedding Show. A big thank you to all the brides who braved the freezing cold and snow to visit the stand and who came along to see us.
The good news is that the weather reports are looking much better for the upcoming wedding show this weekend at Tatton Park, Cheshire : The Wedding Show
For all brides in this area, come along to this show on Saturday or Sunday in the lovely setting of Tatton Park. It’s great show with tons of stands packed full of great ideas and products for your wedding day. We’ll be there with our entire stock of hundreds of tiaras, hair combs, hairvines, jewellery and veils.
Alex and myself will be on hand to help and give advice so that you can select the perfect accessories for your big day. Once you have chosen from our display items we’ll be able to pack up brand new items for you to take away with you (including veils), so that you can leave the show knowing that you have more jobs ticked off your list!
Also at the show will be the wonderful bridal store J’adore who will be bringing with them some of our new wedding dresses from the new 2013 collection. As the designer of these dresses I’ll be on hand to answer any questions by brides about special designs and one-off customisations etc…
This is always a wonderful show and we look forward to seeing you there!……
Just to let everyone know that for the very first time we’ll be showing a collection of our wedding dresses in a whole scene in the catwalk shows at the National Wedding Shows (both Olympia, London and the NEC, Birmingham).
We are really excited and can’t wait to see our designs come to life in the show. Rah Productions always do such a wonderful job staging these shows and we are sure that this season will be no exception. We’ll be showing our 9 favourite dresses along with matching Ivory & Co. sparkling headdresses and accessories.
The catwalk shows are staged a few times each day of the show and allow thousands of brides to see some fabulous dresses in action. As well as the catwalk show we will have the full range of Ivory & co. wedding dresses on our stand at the show so that brides can come along and try on the dress of their dreams!
We have a vast selection of dresses – everything from full romantic gowns, elegant column dresses, Great Gatsby inspired 1920’s styles and tea length vintage 1950’s gowns. So come along to your nearest National Wedding Show to meet us, talk all things wedding and maybe find the perfect dress for your big day!
As the designer of all these dresses I’ll also be on hand with my sketchbook if anyone is looking for something really unique to them or wants a variation on one of our designs. I’ll be happy to help….
Our team of accessory experts will also be there at the next stand offering perfectly matching tiaras, headpieces, jewellery and veils – so in one day it will be possible to get a complete head to toe look that you’ll be thrilled with. (Our staff are trained in giving advice on which accessories best suit the gowns, and certain face shapes, wedding themes etc… so leave it to our professionals to take the stress out of deciding your definitive ‘wedding look’).
We just wanted to let everyone know that one of our most popular designs at the moment – our ‘Marcia’ hairvine is featured this month on the cover of Perfect Wedding Magazine (issue 78).
We are really exited to see it on the cover – we know that when the photo shoots are done that the stylists have literally tons of items to choose from (accessories are sent from many companies like a casting call) so we are thrilled that they chose to use this one of ours – a big thank you to everyone at Perfect Wedding Magazine!
The item they chose is really versatile – it can be worn as a headband (as featured on the magazine) – or over the forehead, as a choker or as a belt too (so brides can get a chance to wear it for other occasions after their wedding).
So any brides out there – please grab your latest copy of the magazine – it’s always a great read and we hope to see you at one of the wedding shows coming up this year where you can try on the ‘Marcia’ hairvine yourself!
As many of you know although we have been best known over the years for our tiaras and wedding accessories, this year saw the launch of our first collection of Ivory & Co. bridal wear. (Fashion and bridal design is what I majored in at university nearly 20 years ago and since then I worked in fashion in London and New York so I was really going back to my roots this year with this venture).
Since I got back from honeymoon it has been a hive of activity here sending the first deliveries of dresses to the wonderful bridal boutiques that placed their orders at the Harrogate trade show in Autumn. Today is an exciting day as we got the call from one of these stores to say that a bride had ordered one of our designs! What makes this even more special and unexpected is that the shop in question – June Brides in Glasgow – only received the dresses this Saturday and the bride selected it that very same day!
The bride chose one of our favourite designs – ‘Veronique’ which is a 1950’s style tea length dress in stunning silk organza with a lace bodice (see pictures below).
So many thanks to June Brides for being the first to sell one of our beautiful dresses and good luck to the bride herself – we hope you have a wonderful wedding this summer…
We have some really exciting news to share with everyone – the list of finalists is out and we are shortlisted amongst only 3 other companies for ‘Best Headdress Designer” at The Bridal Buyer Awards!
You may remember that back in November we were working around the clock to produce our award submission – the criteria was even stricter for this year and we had to submit a lot more supporting material – but it looks now like all the hard work has paid off and we are so happy to be shortlisted along with other prestigious companies such as Jenny Packham Accessories!
Last year we actually won the award in this category – in 2012 we were up against 5 other companies listed as finalists and were so happy and amazed when our name was called out at the glitzy award ceremony that took place in March.
This year we heard that the awards received more entries than ever before and that competition was very stiff so we are just so pleased to be amongst this company as a finalist. now we have to wait until March for the awards ceremony to find out if we will be lucky enough to retain our title…. Being shortlisted for awards like this makes all of our hard work throughout the year worthwhile as we really appreciate the recognition for our work.
Some of the wonderful shops that we supply have also been shortlisted in the best retailer categories – so we would like to say well done to all of them and good luck!
